2016: My Declaration of Freedom

freedom, Veronica N. Cuyugan, 2016

Fresh starts, love, and growth all evoke freedom; it’s only fitting that I open up to everything that word encompasses as my theme for 2016. I’m ready for more big changes and blissing out even when I’m in the midst of chaos.

Last year, I began the practice of declaring an annual theme. Manifestation was my theme for 2015, and boy, did I conspire with the Universe to manifest the shit out of 2015. At the time of the publication of my post regarding manifestation, a couple of instances of furniture coming into my life set an entire year of unbelievable newness and unpredictable growth into motion.

For example, in the year leading up to last, for reasons unbeknownst to me, I kept bringing up ideas about what I wanted in a new house.┬áMind you, in 2014, we had no reason to move, and I’m sure my then-boyfriend thought I was getting way ahead of myself. I had no reason to bring up the fact that I wanted a 4-5 bedroom home with a huge bedroom and a view. Although being the awesome partner that he is, he played along and told me that he wanted a house that was spaced nicely from neighbors; a split level with a room for his mancave.

By October of 2015, we became first-time homeowners of a split-level 4 bedroom with a spare converted into a mancave, with a view. Upon realizing that I was mentally preparing myself and my new husband for an upgrade, I was baffled yet grateful that our lives had taken the turn towards moving to a brand-new state. The move and other personal situations are the reasons that this blog, which I had every intention to post content on a daily basis, became a pseudo-quarterly publication.

As an exercise of my declaration of freedom, I’ll be posting content on a daily basis, because it is the only way I can hold myself accountable for keeping this space. Plus, it’s a shame to abandon a perfectly good blog because of misuse of time.

Happy New Year, My Loves!

What mantra/theme sparks your energy this year?
